About this directory
What it is, where the data comes from, and where the limits are
What this is
The places a commercial driver or a small fleet has to deal with are listed by dozens of different agencies: inspection stations by each state, training providers and process agents by FMCSA, TSA enrollment centers by TSA’s enrollment provider, public truck parking by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, ELDs on FMCSA’s device list. Each list is public, and most are hard to use: a search box that returns twenty results at a time, a PDF, a table with no county, no way to find the nearest.
This directory reads each of them in whatever form the agency publishes, puts them in one place, and says on every listing where it came from. You can go state first (pick a state, then the kind of place, then the town) or category first.
What a listing tells you, and what it does not
Each listing shows what its source publishes and nothing it does not. Where an agency publishes license dates, as New York’s DMV and California’s Bureau of Automotive Repair do, the listing shows them and says whether the license is current. Where an agency publishes only a current list, the listing says it was on that list when last checked, and claims no license period. Where a state says a station handles heavy vehicles, or an office gives CDL skills tests, the listing says so; where it does not say, nothing is assumed.
Where the limits are, stated up front
- Coverage follows what agencies publish. Many states run no inspection programme at all, some run one without publishing the list, and each state publishes its DMV offices and CDL testers in its own way. Each category page says which states it covers.
- Contact details depend on the source. Several lists have no phone column, so their listings show none; nothing is filled in from elsewhere.
- DOT physicals are not listed yet. FMCSA’s National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners is searchable only one query at a time behind a bot check, and is not copied here. A request for the full list was filed with FMCSA under the Freedom of Information Act in September 2026.
- Weigh stations are not listed. No national list of them exists.
- No star ratings are shown yet. When they are, they will sit beside the license record, not in place of it.

Get told when the register changes
Licenses lapse and get renewed constantly: in the current data nearly a quarter of the records in one state register have already expired. We re-check the registers and email a short summary of what moved.
